Beginner's Spinning Part 1 - Spinning From Scratch

Beginner's Spinning Part 1 - Spinning From Scratch

059

An exciting and inspiring workshop with Lea here in the art studio, learning loads to get you started with spinning yarns and begin your wonderful yarn spinning journey!

We will be:

*Carding & preparing wool

*Getting to know your way around a spinning wheel

*Exploring different fibers

*Drafting fibers

*Spinning a single ply yarn

*How to set the twist in your yarns ready to use in your projects

At the end of this workshop, take your very own first yarns home with you and have stacks more fun creating things with them!

It is best to bring your own spinning wheel (in good working order) but I have a spare wheel available to use during the class for one student if you don't have your own yet.

You can bring your own (washed clean) fibers and fleeces with you, or book to have fiber included - There are lots of bags of fleece, prepared fiber, and creative fiber bags available for sale here in the studio shop.

*I advise booking at least 4 - 5 hours for a one day workshop, or 8 - 10 hours over a two day workshop with part 2, as a complete beginner's introduction to spinning yarn.
